The street to Prosecco Veneto is the name of an Italian region in which nature and culture meet in a fascinating way. Here you can find elaborate cathedrals and castles as well as beautiful gardens and valleys. But many visit Veneto because of its culinary temptations. Because here is the home of one of most lively products of Italian gourmet history: the Prosecco.
Appearing like a natural amphitheatre the landscape stretches between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. The way between the two towns is called “Strada del Prosecco” by the locals. It is 33 km long and gourmets encounter the famous wine everywhere. The winegrowers love to share the magic of their Prosecco with their guests: they show the visitors around the vineyards and the cellars and let them taste different wines and sparkling wines. A very special event is the “National Spumante Exhibition” in Conegliano which informs about the latest news from the world of sparkling wines every year in September. Organizer of this event is the society Altamarca (www.altamarca.it) which has set its target to promote the verve for Prosecco and its region.
Altamarca is the proper contact for everyone who wants to visit the home of Prosecco. Feel free to ask the society for suggestions for tours, maps, tips for events and addresses of restaurants and hotels.
